Volunteerism is a Learning Experience for Tudor

Volunteering comes naturally for Tudor Cisu, a 19 year old sophomore at Binghamton University in New York State, who dreams of a career as a physician researcher.

On his way to entering Binghamton, Tudor Cisu spent a total of 220 hours from 2004 to 2008 as a volunteer transporter at St. Joseph’s Hospital Center in Syracuse, New York, logging in 10 hours a week each summer. Last year, Tudor Cisu continued his volunteerism at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where he “shadowed” one of the nation’s most prominent neurosurgeons, Dr Keith Black.

Currently, Tudor Cisu is in pre-med, majoring in both Mathematics and Biochemistry before deciding which particular field of medical research to pursue, although he has a very good idea even now. His current interest lies in uncovering why a certain protein is overexposed in heart failure.
